Some background first: Go check out the Ardent Plea pre-release card on Magicthegathering.com. Last Thursday I received a package in the mail from the PR company. The package contained an Ultra-Pro Deck Box, 10 "gold" chocolate coins and a note. I took a snapshot of the box and the coins and then a close up of the note.
After seeing the picture of Ardent plea, I'm wondering if the enchantment card has something to do with 10 counters. Maybe remove a counter and there's some sort of an effect?
The funny thing is that my son wanted to eat the chocolate coins, but I had him hold off (giving him other candy instead) as I thought the number of coins was somehow important--but that's just my guess. I'm still confused. Maybe it has nothing to do with counters, but that's my best guess.
Of course, the gold coins might have only been a way of letting us all know that the set is all gold and has nothing to do with the Ardent Plea....
Monday, March 9th, 2008: The Fast of Esther - It is customary to give 3 coins in half-denomination (half-dollars) to charity, in commemoration of the half shekel contributed by each Jew to the Holy Temple, which the Talmud credits as having counteracted the 10,000 coins Haman gave to King Achashverosh to obtain the royal decree calling for the extermination of the Jewish people.

you do know that there are rumors on the forums that the whole set is going to be multicolored, right?

Yes, I know that. And I posted this information on the MTGSalvation forum. But if you listen to the latest episode of The Magic Sock (162), you'll learn that I've received written confirmation that it's an all gold set.
